Drinking fountains and dispensers are found in a variety of locations for a number of reasons. From the wall-mounted fountains found in school halls to the bottled water dispensers found in the home, they all serve their purpose efficiently, and are often useful devices to have installed.
Drinking fountains can be installed in a variety of ways to suit their location. They can be mounted to the wall or simply freestanding pedestals. They must be made at the right height for their expected users. For example, a drinking fountain made for children must be lower than one for adults. Also, a drinking fountain that might be used by wheelchair users must be installed at the appropriate height. All these factors must be taken into account to make a fountain that is almost a compromise.
Additional aspects can be considered to enhance the durability of the drinking fountain. In colder climates it’s useful to install a system that prevents that water from freezing, and it can be a good idea to put measures in place to deter vandals. A great many factors must be considered, but the range of drinking fountains available is vast and there are many different options to choose from.
A water dispenser is the staple of many office buildings, as it is flexible and easily refillable. It exists quietly in the corner of a room, with its water bottle being replaced whenever it becomes empty. It functions by cooling the water as it runs through the system from the bottle to a cup or glass. A water dispenser will not function on it’s own though. Drinking fountains will be connected to the main water supply, but water dispensers rely on water bottles that are made specifically for them.
Buildings that make use of water dispensers will often arrange for a number of water bottles to be delivered each day to ensure the water dispensers continue to function appropriately. This means that by buying a water dispenser, the customer must then buy bottled water regularly to make use of the dispenser. This can be a drawback, but one must consider that there exists a range of bottled water brands that are compatible with the water dispenser, giving the customer many options.
Both drinking fountains and water dispensers are good options to provide water to different people in different locations, and they are each suited to different situations.
